Filipinos are known to be thrifty people. Whenever they have broken things, they always find a way to fix them instead of buying a replacement. After all, one should really get a bang for the buck for these objects on the count that they tend to cost a lot. However, no matter how well an object is fixed, its quality won’t be the same as when it was brand new. One woman had to learn this fact the hard way when their house almost burned down when their faulty flat screen TV started a fire in their living room.
A Facebook user shared her experience in order to warn others of the dangers of faulty appliances. According to her post, her flat screen TV was repaired three weeks ago. Earlier this day, their house almost burned down when a fire started from the appliance which was plugged into their wall’s outlet.
To make things worse, the incident happened while everyone was asleep, which is why they weren’t able to detect the smoke from the fire as soon as possible.
Luckily though, the fire didn’t spread throughout their home. Most of the damage occurred in the living room, where the television was placed.
