When netizen Kassy Pajarillo‘s Uber driver canceled on her, she decided to take a cab instead. While most other stories starting out this way end up as disappointing, tragic experiences, Pajarillo’s experience was so delightful she just had to go on Facebook and post about the taxi driver she met.
The first thing Kassy noticed was that the ride was pleasant, despite the car being a bit old — it was a Vios 2012.
Soon enough, Kassy spotted the thing that made the ride very pleasant and nice. Surprisingly, it wasn’t an expensive branded car perfume that caught her attention. Apparently, the taxi driver uses something else to make his car smell extra nice — something that is meant for a different purpose altogether.
Kassy shared her astonishment with a simple photo.
“I rode a taxi this afternoon since my uber driver canceled on me. Soon as I stepped in, I couldn’t help but compliment how pleasant and nice his ride is despite knowing he’s driving an oldie but goodie Vios 2012 (it was jerking a little). “I noticed he stored opened sachets of Downy.”
Upon noticing the opened sachets of fabric conditioner in the car, Kassy first wondered if the taxi driver was a vendor on the side. She then asked him what the Downy was for, and that’s when the taxi driver revealed that he uses it to freshen up his car.
The taxi driver further explained that he prefers using Downy over expensive car perfumes because of its lack of chemicals and due to its anti-bacterial properties. He even showed Kassy his DIY car spray and said, “bango, ‘di ba? Hindi pa sasakit ilong mo at hindi babaho aircon mo. Pwede pa pampunas pang anti-bac sa kotse. Hindi maluluma kotse mo o.”
Kassy’s post has since gone viral, with netizens either confirming that Downy is indeed a nice alternative for air fresheners, or sharing Kassy’s amazement and promising to try this nifty little trick out.
