Every now and then, we see a random act of kindness that touches our hearts and makes us thankful for what we have. Filipinos have always been known to be a people of compassion and generosity, always ready to help out the less fortunate. It is not uncommon for us to help out those who are in need especially when we have money or food to spare. This was exactly what a man did when he treated three street kids to a hearty meal in Jollibee.
A netizen named Patrisha Capillan was eating with her boyfriend in Jollibee when she saw a man who looked well off enter the fast food restaurant. According to a post Capillan wrote on Facebook, the man bought three spaghetti meals upon entering, but not for himself. He then called the street kids who were loitering outside Jollibee and asked them to sit down with him and eat!

Capillan and her boyfriend were so touched by what they saw that she started filming this random act of kindness. In fact, the man even bought food for one of the kids’ mothers when he saw one kid set his food aside to bring home despite his hunger.

Her entire post read:
“Around 2pm today kumain kami ni niks sa Jollibee Marquinton tapos nakita namin ito. Sobrang nakakaiinspired ang ginawa ni kuya. Yung mga bata na nakikita niyo sa picture and vid, nakatambay lang sila sa harap ng store, namamalimos din siguro sila. Nagulat lang kami kasi si kuya nag order nang 3 spag hindi para sa sarili niya kundi para sa tatlong bata na nasa labas. Tinawag niya, pinaupo niya, pinakaen niya. Sobrang nakakatouch pa yung susubuan niya yung pinakabata sa tatlo tapos sobrang tuwang tuwa siya. And eto pa yung nakakaiyak na part na narinig ko na sinabi nung isang bata na naka green. Kuya: Tapos kana kumaen?
Batang naka green: Opo
K: Bakit hindi mo inubos?
B: Para po kasi kay mama. Hindi lang sarili nila ang iniintindi ng mga bata pati mga magulang nila. Halata sa mga bata na gutom sila kasi umorder pa si kuya ng burger at naubos nila. Thank you Lord kasi may mga instruments kang ginagamit para magabot ng tulong sa iba. Para ka kuya, saludo po kami ng boyfriend ko sayo. Ramdam namin sa mga mata at ngiti mo na lubos talaga ang pag tulong mo sa kapwa. Sana patuloy kang pagpalain ni Lord para mas marami ka pang matulungan or mapakain hehehe. God bless you po! Continue mo lang po yan, malayo mararating mo. Pasensya nadin po kung pinicturan kita, nakakainspired ka lang po kasi. The unnamed man, however, was unaware that Capillan was watching and recording him. He was too busy assisting the kids with their food and chatting with them. In the video, he could be seen smiling and enjoying his lunch with the kids.
