Jodi Chrissie Garcia Santamaria, more popularly known as Jodi Sta. Maria, is one of the country’s most talented actresses. She has been lauded both here and abroad for her acting prowess. Since she started acting at the young age of 15, however, her studies had to take a backseat.
Still, Jodi Sta. Maria has always dreamed of getting a college degree. Late last year, at 34 years old, the celebrated actress took the first step towards finally achieving this dream. She has enrolled in a Psychology program at the Southville International School and Colleges, where other celebs like Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil also attend.
Jodi Sta. Maria definitely proved that it’s never too late to pick up where you left off when it comes to education. Not only is she back in school and enjoying it — she is also excelling at it! After the semester that just concluded, Jodi received recognition for ranking top 1 among all Psychology majors in her batch, and 7th overall in the school. She earned a GPA of 3.670 for said semester.
All this she did and achieved despite having a very busy schedule in show business.
This is just Part 1 of Jodi Sta. Maria’s plan for her future, though, as she is taking Psychology as a pre-medical course. She looks to get that Medicine degree while still acing projects and endorsements. With the way she’s going, however, there is little to no doubt that she’ll be able to achieve anything she sets her heart to do.
She even dreams of working as a guidance counselor following her earning of a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.
“I want to be able to work as a guidance counselor or a rehabilitation specialist,” she said in an interview.
Her inspiring dreams and dedication truly makes Jodi a wonderful role model for students of all ages. Luckily, we will be seeing more of this model celebrity as she will soon be back on TV via ABS-CBN’s latest series “Sana Dalawa Ang Puso,” together with Richard Yap and Robin Padilla.
Congratulations on being Top 1 of your class, Jodi!
