Boxing champ Manny Pacquiao gained worldwide fame for his matches that drew in millions of viewers and fans over the years. While his recent fights failed to surpass the glory of his younger days, earnings from these afforded him enough to purchase a couple of prime real estate properties. Aside from two stately homes in General Santos City, the boxer turned senator also has another mansion in Makati – in upscale Forbes Park, nonetheless.
According to showbiz website PEP, the famed boxer purchased the first-rate 1,500 square meter property some time in 2011 for a jaw-dropping price of Php388 million. The L-shaped house – done in concrete and expanse of glass for a modern approach – has three levels.
Because the Forbes Park mansion serves as another home sweet home for the Pacquiao family, it also doubles as Manny’s office and set for his GMA show, “Stories for the Soul.” After all, there were biblical verses supposedly plastered around the house as a reminder of Manny’s changed ways.
Huge glass windows provide ample lighting inside the house, giving off a cozy effect amidst the cool, neutral toned decor of the interior. While Manny’s wife Jinkee wanted an opulent touch as a sign of their new status, this was vetoed to give way to a sleeker and more contemporary design by the Budji+Royal Architecture+Design company. Moreover, the furniture is an eclectic mix of hardwood and modern materials like glass and steel.
Since the Pacquiaos enjoy accommodating guests outdoors, this area features flora amidst aqua – a koi pond or swimming pool to cool off in the summer.
The senator’s home office is splendid with its wooden furniture and fixtures, but at the same time, it gives off a relaxed air, thanks to a view of the outdoors.
On the other hand, the living room is designed with Jinkee’s taste for vivid hues and patterns, according to COCOON magazine. However, these were offset by elements in neutral colors as seen on the Italian sofas and armchairs, perfect for lounging.
Maintaining the earthy tones of the interior, the kitchen cabinets were done in wooden finish but trimmed with metal handles to provide contrast. Black countertops added flair to an otherwise dreary finish on the state-of-the-art kitchen.
According to PEP, the mansion also features Jinkee’s boudoir, Manny’s walk-in closet, and a palatial dining room with tables that can be sectioned off for dining arrangements. Likewise, there’s a home cinema with luxurious leather seats, where Bible sessions are sometimes held.
Aside from the Makati mansion, the Pacquiaos have two more abodes in General Santos City and another beachfront property in Saranggani province. Based on the PEP report, Manny is constructing another manor in General Santos City, three times bigger than their Forbes Park home.
