There’s a reason why Franchesca “Chesca” Salcedo, or Norilyn in “Kambal, Karibal,” looks so familiar. It’s because she portrayed the title role of Cruzita in the Philippine adaptation of “Marimar” in 2007. It will be recalled that the local version became iconic in the country, top-billed by the Kapuso “Primetime King and Queen” Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera.

Time flies so fast, indeed, and Chesca is now a bona fide charming teen. While she still hasn’t received her big break in the entertainment industry, it’s safe to say that the young actress is already on her way to prove her potential to be a big star–having appeared in numerous series to show and hone her prowess.

Apart from “Marimar,” the 16-year-old actress also appeared in another local adaptation, Mexican telenovela “Rosalinda,” as the young Fedra (who was later on portrayed by Katrina Halili). Chesca also starred in “Trudis Liit” as Sugar Ferrer, and as young Binayaan in “Amaya.”

In 2014, the teen actress starred alongside Bianca King and Neri Naig in TV5’s medical drama “Obsession.” Her last drama prior to “Kambal, Karibal” was on the Philippine version of Korean Drama “Baker King” in 2015.
