In the male-dominated Philippine National Police, there are indeed few proverbial roses among the thorns. After all, the grueling training it takes to become a cop is enough to scare off girls who dislike roughing it up with other boys. But this policewoman from Davao City just proved that not all ladies like to be prim and proper with a job behind a desk. Decked in camouflage and combat boots, this arresting officer means business, official police business, that is!
On the Facebook page of BuhayLespu, one lady cop is making waves online with her pretty face, even with close-cropped hair. She has been identified as PO1 Mel Rose Duma FTP at the San Pedro Police Station in Davao City. And no, FTP doesn’t stand for “f*ck the police” but Field Training Program for newly minted crimefighters.

With the hashtag #GandaPulisSpotted, the post quickly turned viral as it racked up 8,500 reactions as of writing. She’s definitely becoming a favorite as netizens joked that they would gladly be placed under her arrest.
Our online sleuthing skills led us to Mel Rose’s personal Facebook account where she already has nearly 4,000 followers. Based on her Facebook feed, the pretty police officer absolutely adores dogs, big and small alike.
She graduated from training under the Pinaghusay Batch 01-2017 last year. Based on her Facebook post last February 1, Mel Rose has been in service for about a year. And sorry, boys, but it looks like she already caught the heart of another guy in camouflage.

Aside from Mel Rose, other female police officers also made waves on social media for their beauty and badass-ness. Take for instance PO1 Jeanne Tabora Cayabyab of Dagupan City Police Station whose dimpled smile will make you think twice before doing any crime.

PO1 Joean Valencia assigned to a Quezon City station is a Police and Community Relation officer who ensures information dissemination reaches the intended targets. Being easy on the eyes also helps in making her more credible and trust-worthy.
